Shirou Yusa (遊佐司狼, Yusa Shirou), later called by the Demon Name Georgius, is one of the main characters in Dies Irae. He is Ren's best friend since their childhood.
Personality[]
Shirou is described by Ren as being a real idiot, an animal without fear of anything. That explains his personality well, always smiling and mocking everyone, loving to irritate his friends. However, Shirou has no hesitation in his actions, nor does he have any kind of morality: Everything he does is simply to get rid of his Déja Vù, the feeling that he already knows everything that will happen. And although Shirou is like an authentic and perfect action hero, calculating, joking and tenebrously resistant to things that even Ren is not able to tolerate, Shirou is still human, and deep down, he is still frightened and hesitated by the horrors of the Table Obsidian.
Shirou is haunted by his sense of Foreknowlage. While he isn't suicidal, he is willing to die if it means ridding himself from the sense of deja vu for just a moment. This leads him to act a thrill seeker who regularly put himself in danger.
Shirou is eager to start fights and is prone to becoming foul mouthed when annoyed.
Relationsips[]
His best friend. Shirou's desire for adventure often clashes with Ren's desire for a normal life. This eventually culminated in Shirou threatening to tell Kasumi the truth about her father, which would have destroyed Ren's normal life, causing Ren to start their fight on the roof top.
They are childhood friends. While Shirou views her as a friend, he has no problem causing her stress if it eases his boredom.
Eri is Shirou's girlfriend. The two met while Shirou was recovering from his fight with Ren in the hospital and quickly grew close, with Eri eventually sneaking him out.
Story[]
Before Dies Irae[]
Shirou was born on March 3rd 1990 as Varuna's Sensory as well as Ren's Apoptosis, given life by Ren's desire to die. He grew up as Ren and Kasumi's neighbor but never interacted much with either of them.
One day, in 1995 (back Shirou was only 6 years old), Shirou murdered Mr. Ayase (subconsciously acting upon Ren's hatred of him), with Ren helping in covering the crime up. Though Mr. Ayase died from being stabbed in the neck, courtesy of Shirou, they managed to hide the corpse for a time and, after that, mask his death as a complete accident, making it seems as if he had fallen upon one of the blades he kept at home. Being children, of course, no one would think they were murderers. Furthermore, the discovery of a torture room in the man's basement further cemented him as not being a completely innocent man. Kasumi and her mother remained, of course, unaware of Ren and Shirou's involvement.
Ren, Kasumi and Shirou moved together to Suwahara City two years prior to the start of the main story. Kasumi's mother only allowed it on the condition they they lived near each other, as a result, the three lived in the same apartment block, Ren's apartment being in between Shirou and Kasumi's. Shirou didn't waste a second a broke a hole in the wall between his and Ren's apartment using a hammer, so he could access it quickly.
One year before the start of the series, Shirou suffered a major motorcycle accident. Not only did he miraculously survive and heal, but the accident warped his senses, eliminating his senses of taste, smell and pain.
In 2006, two months before the story begins, Ren and Shirou have a brutal fistfight in Tsukinosawa High's rooftop. Shirou, stating that he is tired of their boring, daily life, and wants to play with all variables available to him, plans to tell Kasumi about the truth of her father's murder. Ren, unwilling to let his best friend ruin his daily life, begins with the fight. In the aftermath, they are found lying in the rooftop by their upperclassman, Rea Himuro, whom the group had struck a solid friendship with since they arrived in Suwahara City, who calls an ambulance to take them both to the hospital. While in the hospital, Shirou meets the director's granddaughter Eri Honjou, who later helps him break out of the hospital.
Afterwards, the two quickly take over a nightclub in town known as The Bottomless Pit.
Dies irae[]
Kasumi Route[]
He shows extraordinary feats such as kidnapping Ren with his motorcycle when cowering from Reinhard's pressure and surviving repeated battles with Wilhelm.
Ultimately to rescue Kasumi, Shirou heads to the church, stalls Wilhelm, and sends Ren inside. Though Shirou defeats Wilhelm while severely injured, the wounds were too grave, and Shirou perished in the end.
Kei Route[]
In this route, Wilhelm is killed by Kei, so Shirou no longer has any vendetta against him. When attacked by Schreiber during the post-Swastika opening of the academy, Ren, Shirou, and Kei team up to counter him.
Overwhelmed by Schreiber's speed, Shirou is severely injured, but discerns Schreiber's nature "I don't want to be touched by anyone", luring him into a minefield set in the schoolyard. Despite being unable to fight, Shirou tears off his own left arm to strike Schreiber, finally landing a hit.
Marie Route[]
Shirou gets eaten by Rusalka, who plundered the Bottomless Pit, on Marie's Route, but he manages to seize possession of the Holy Relic and emerge from Rusalka's belly. Shirou then fights Wilhelm at the chapel, but is stopped by Schreiber's intervention. Schreiber becomes enraged and attacks Shirou.
Shirou fights up against Schreiber in the amusement park, confronting Reinhard and the Three Battalion Commanders summoned by the open Swastikas. Despite being overwhelmed by Schreiber's speed, Shirou forms a tag team with Ellie's spirit imprisoned inside Bloody Countess and they battle together.
Rea Route[]
Shirou, Eri, and Kasumi were killed and consumed by Wilhelm who attack the club. the three wandered into the maze of roses until they reached the blood fountain where Helga resides. Taking advantage of Wilhelm fight against Schreiber and Helga's maternal feelings, Shirou managed to pull through his plan and revived himself upon Wilhelm's death. Realized his role as an Apoptosis, he called Ren and Rea to the school roof, which is the final Swastika unopened. There, he put Ren into a dilemma; whether to kill him to open Swastika or kill Rea to prevent Reinhard from descending. Ren chose neither and the two has a fight, reminiscence of the one they had in the same place. By being defeated, Shirou allowed Ren to cut tied with him as well as fulfill his role as a destructive factor of Ren's daily life. He then shot himself to make way for his friend's final battle. His soul sucks into Gladsheim due to his revival being that of Wilhelm's aid.
During the three-way battle, Shirou displays feats exceeding expectations, snatching nearly half the souls of the Longinus Dreizhen Orden's army. Shirou casually remarks that its one of his abilities. While cryptic this statement is highly significant.
Moreover, he then referred to himself as the battle's trump card and sent all the gods beneath the host, Ren, to self-destruct, weakening Reinhard and Mercurius. This boost is so significant that both opponents can be severely injured by the bullets he shoots, which have a divine power that is far less than these two's combined. Due to this, Ren is now on par with the other two gods, even though he started off with a significant disadvantage in terms of soul count, which is the most crucial factor in the clash of gods.
Epilogue[]
In the world of Marie, Shirou lived peacefully with Eri, Rea, and others without the knowledge of their previous life.
Kajiri Kamui Kagura[]
While Shirou does not directly appear in the game, his and Eli's reincarnation, Tenma Sukuna , is a member of the Yatsukahagi.
Powers & Abilities[]
Warped Senses[]
Due to a Motorcycle accident he suffered about a year before the start of Dies Irae, Shirou's physical senses have become warped. He can no longer smell, taste, or feel pain, but his remaining senses have become somewhat heightened due to this.
Sense of Foreknowledge[]
Shirou was granted precognition by Mercurius. This ability allows him to have a constant feeling of deja vu as a result of lingering memories of past iterations of the world due to Mercurius's law. It is because of this ability that Shirou can keep up with members of the LDO despite being an ordinary human.
Supernatural Luck[]
Even when taking his Foreknowledge into account Shirou's luck abnormally high. Whether is a truck of Liquid nitrogen passing by at the perfect time or surviving what should have been a fatal motorcycle accident, Shirou has amazing luck when his life is in danger. This ability is tied to Shirou's Sense of Forknowledge, as, according to Shirou, whenever he feels the sense of deja vu, no matter what he does, he cant die. This is later implied to be result of Mercurius's meddling, as the god was working to keep Shirou alive to fuel Ren's growth.
Die Ewigkeit[]
Yetzirah[]
Elizabeth Bathory[]
Shirou obtain's Rusalka's Holy Relic in the Kei and Marie Routes. Unlike Rusalka, who channels the relic through her shadow, Shirou channels it through his own body. This allows for things like creating chains from his limbs and creating an iron maiden like trap out of his own rib-cage.Atziluth[]
Malignant Tumor Apoptosis[]
Shirou's Atziluth suppresses all supernatural powers around Shirou, reverting everyone around him to the level of a normal human or to utterly destroy any divine power that is weaker than Ren or as powerful as the latter, driving the Gods to madness and self destruction. The only ways to escape it's effects are to be stronger then Ren, or to already be a normal human. In the later case, the power will rebound and revert Shirou to a normal human. When he utilized it in the battle of the 3 colors, he was able to break the control of Reinhard over other Ldo members, taking them to Ren's size, with him alone overturning the difference in souls between the 3 gods. He instantly oneshotted the legions of the Two Gods and ravaging the 4th heaven and his apoptosis, being able to even damage Ren via his apoptosis nature.
